The #island of #Madagascar is one of the key locations in video game #Uncharted4 in the search for the pirate treasure of #CaptainAvery. The artists at #NaughtyDog tried a range of different looks for Madagascar’s unique landscape. #NaughtyDog artists, while producing #Uncharted4, work on more than meets the eye. The entrance to Tew’s Mansion, made by Naughty Dog concept artist #JohnSweeney, is a case in point. Apart from creating a mansion that would look convincingly old and worn, the script for Uncharted 4 informed #Sweeney of the presence of snipers in and around the building. With the enormous bounty of exotic destinations in #Uncharted4, you may be surprised there were more to choose from than appeared in the game. One of these was an #Asian #jungle, where #NathanDrake would explore time-worn temples and #ruins, inspired by the ancient monuments of #Cambodia and #Bali. In the end, this powerful work by #NaughtyDog environmental artist #EytanZana did not make it into the game, but served as early exploration of what Uncharted 4 could be. #athiefsend

The communication of emotion has always been a strong point in #Uncharted games, and #Uncharted4 is no exception. In this great concept art work by #NaughtyDog artist #HyoungTaekNam we see #Elena angry at #Nathan and #Sully, after learning they are back to their dangerous ways: #treasure hunting and gun fighting in various remote locations.
