High protein snack episode 2 

This is Bihari recipe and mum used to make this on weekend . With leftover pakoras we used to make sandwich with tomato sauce and mint chutney . You must try this as it is so so good 😊 

Ingredients

1 cup Masoor Dal ( Red lentils)
5-6 garlic cloves ( around 2tbsb )
1/2 inch ginger 
2 green chillies 
6 tbsb water 
Salt as per taste 
3 tbsb rice flour
1/2 cup fine chopped onion
1/2 tsp dhaniya powder ( coriander )
Cilantro leaves 
A pinch of baking soda ( optional )

Instructions 

Wash and soak the dal overnight 
Drain the water . Add soaked dal in blender with ginger garlic and chillies .Blend with little water ( I used around 6 tbsb)

Thekua recipe is a pure Bihari delicacy which is immensely popular in the subcontinents of eastern India. It is considered as one of the essential elements of holy “Chhath puja” prasad which is offered to God. Basically, in thekua preparation whole wheat flour is kneaded to a dough with ghee, jaggery syrup and shaped and is then deep fried. Flavouring agent and dry fruits are added to enhance the dish further. Thekua recipe with jaggery is much more than a homemade Indian cookie.
