David Williams on Instagram: "Movement is usually the cause of persistent cracks in ceilings. Simply filling over the crack isn’t going to work no matter what filler you use. Follow these steps for a permanent repair. ⬇️

• Rake out the crack using a knife or scraper.
• screw up the boards either side of the crack with plasterboard screws.
• dampen down / seal the crack
• Fill and apply mesh tape
• skim a tight coat of filler over the mesh tape allow to dry.
• Apply a second coat of filler going wider than the first coat to blend into the ceiling.
• lightly sand down, prime and paint.
