Lucy Glendinning’s figures carry absorbing, yet unsettling textures alien to the human body. The artist uses material like wax, duck feathers, timber, jesmonite, glass, and other materials for her strange, often fetal-positioned characters. Acne Studio, a Stockholm-based fashion brand, takes the lead with its remarkable work and a much-talked-about product the gigantic rubber chairs made from recycled tires. Envisioned by the Estonian artist Villu Jaanisoo, these large sculptural furniture pieces called ‘Chairs in Rubber’ are crafted using recycled tires.
