1. As we age, our skeletal muscle mass and strength decrease.  However, strength training does help build and maintain muscle, even during perimenopause and postmenopause. 

2. Our bone density also begins to decrease during perimenopause.  However, bone loss can also be offset by strength training. 

3. As we approach menopause, you may find your body fat increasing, especially around the belly.  Strength training increases muscle which helps change your body composition and can also increase metabolism.
