The frameless curved glass at Lea Bridge Library creates a natural fluidity to the timber design. Using structural glass the glass walls were frameless and curved, minimising the division between inside and out. This is enhanced by the use of natural materials. Floor to ceiling glass with modern timber panelling enhances this biophilic design to Lea Bridge Library. The floor to ceiling glass uses sliding glass doors and engineered curved glass playing towards this biophilic design. This required a bespoke fixing detail to be created by IQ and full structural design of the glass to ensure suitability for the project. IQ worked closely with Strom Architects to design a glazing package that was tailored to the luxury new build, using a mix of frameless and slim framed architectural glazing systems with technical glazing integrations where required, such as marine grade glazing to the swimming pool area.
