I was in middle school in 1986 when I noticed the most popular girl in school, who was also very kind to me, had a red satchel Liz Claiborne handbag (the embossed triangle monogram). I grew up poor but for my 15th birthday, I asked for this purse. I got a red triangle monogram Liz Claiborne purse but not the satchel. I liked it but I felt like the purse of my dreams was just unattainable! and so my obsession for handbags began.
