Using these huge tiles for my kitchen backsplash was one of the best cost saving design elements in my house. Slabs of stone can cost thousands, but with this method I used seven 24”x48” tiles costing under $500. They were installed on cement board like any other tile install, with 1/16 spacers so the grout lines are really small. I laid out the tiles beforehand to match up the pattern as close as possible. Recommendations for Install: - Install tiles as close together as possible, and choose a grout color same as the tile color to make the seams virtually invisible - Use a 3” diamond tile blade to cut the outlet holes - Line up the tiles in advance of install to match the veins between pieces.
