Gentiana puberulenta

Gentiana puberulenta, Downy Gentian, is often found growing in short clumps (12”) in areas that are minimally disturbed. Downy Gentian prefers drier soils with full sun to partial shade. It is always a delight to see the relatively large deep blue-violet flower bloom during the late summer months of August into early October when the golden fall colors dominate.
