Vincent Le Nir
Vincent Le Nir, Dr. Ir. was born in Flers in the Normandy region of France in 1977. He received the Master's degree in electronics from the "Institut National des Sciences Appliquées" (INSA) of Rennes in 2001. Then he followed a PhD in digital communications at France Telecom R&D, Cesson Sévigné and obtained the PhD degree in electronics from the "Institut National des Sciences Appliquées" (INSA) of Rennes in 2004. From 2005 to 2009, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher and research scientist in digital communications at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) in Belgium. He is now senior research scientist at the department Communications Information Systems and Sensors (CISS) of the Royal Military Academy (RMA) in Brussels, Belgium. His research interests are related to digital communications and signal processing in the wireless and wireline domains. In the wireless domain, he has been working on Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) communications, Space- Time Coding (STC), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM), Multi- Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) and iterative receivers for multi-carrier modulations associated with multi-antenna techniques. In the wireline domain, he has been working on Common-Mode (CM) and Phantom-Mode (PM) transmission for Very-high Data-rate Subscriber Lines (VDSL), Power-Line Communications (PLC), Dynamic Spectrum Management (DSM) for full Vectored Channels (VC), Interference Channels (IC), Multiple Access Channels (MAC) and finally Broadcast Channels (BC). He has also worked on spectrum sensing and parameter estimation techniques for Cognitive Radio (CR) systems, and the monitoring of Ultra WideBand (UWB) signals using fiber optics. He is currently working on Cognitive Radio (CR) projects of the Belgian Ministry of Defense (MoD) and NATO, in which he has implemented several waveforms such as the NATO Narrow Band Waveform.
