Positioning for Comfort
Because comfort and feeling safe are important in child development, finding positions that are medically appropriate and comfortable for the child would be excellent for a CCLS. The goal would be for the child to express what makes them feel the most at ease.
Being in a new environment can be stressful, overwhelming, and scary. A CCLS should be aware of these facts to help reduce any sensory overload within the hopsitl room. This can not only help the child, but also take some stress off the family.
