Inspiration for Book Cover Project: 'Small Sorrows'

I am designing a book cover for my illustration project for university. I've chosen the invented title 'Small Sorrows' which i chose from a list and I think the story will involve wildlife conservation in one form or another. I'm focusing on birds, specifically Kingfishers. As a migratory bird they are affected drastically by deforestation and some species are close to extinction. I am going to try and incorporate this into my artwork.
