But as someone who has been now lived with it for 6 months, I personally don’t think it’s that practical, and it will cost you more in fitting costs, unless you brave it yourself. So I feel like you need to be REALLY committed to it if you’re going down the path of skirting your whole kitchen. As you may have seen in my kitchen regrets video, I ended up backing out of skirting my entire kitchen and just did the island as I had so many faux inframe units to try and work around, it just didn’t seem worth it. room STYLING on Instagram: "Have you heard of skiffers? I hadn’t until recently. They’re usually brass and made into right angles in order to protect the corners of walls and skirting. Having had my kitchen island for a year I realised I needed them as my corners were bashed and tatty. I set about filling gaps with wood filler, and giving them a rub down once it was dry. When my skiffers arrived from @broughtonsofleicester I marked the holes in the skirting where they needed to be and drilled small holes to help the screws go in. Now they’re all attached and looking fabulous I just need to touch up the paint which I luckily have a tiny sample of. I think they not only look great but serve a purpose in my kitchen. Well as the title suggests our kitchen finally turned up. We got a heads up that it was turning up last Thursday and sure enough when we went out late Thursday afternoon there she was sitting in bits and pieces all over the family room floor.
