In the stories, he hails from c. 8th - 9th centuries CE Baghdad (Abbasid Caliphate). Sources claim there already were Arabic curved swords during the time but I couldn’t find the archaeological evidences so what I used is a little earlier - the sword of Caliph Umar. From what I gathered, straight swords were still the staple in the time…
