This is a hand-carved Christmas Tree ornament made from solid black walnut. This ornament style is titled "Holiday Bell ". This ornament is not made with a Laser or an automated machine. Rather, I carve it by hand, with high-quaility Swiss carving tools. Please see the video showing my unique carving process. Hand Carved Christmas Ornament No. 2411 Each ornament has an eyelet threaded with natural twine for hanging. This one-of-a-kind Christmas tree ornament is an original design that is carved from Wisconsin Basswood. Santa's beard is carved with openings to allow light to filter through the carving. Each is hand-carved using only hand gouges and carving knives to provide fine details and facial features that give the carving its own personality. During the carving process wood is also hollowed from the back to reduce its weight so that it hangs properly on any size tree. The ornament is hand painted using acrylic paints and antiqued with tinted wax giving the ornament an "Old World" appearance.
