1.8K views · 25 reactions | Pumpkin Cream Cheese Danish Braid Recipe ⬇️ Ingredients: 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed 3/4 cup pumpkin purée 4 oz cream cheese, room temp 1/4 cup + 1 tbs sugar 1 egg yolk, room temp 1 Tbs all purpose flour 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice 1 tsp vanilla extract **Egg Wash 1 large egg + 1 Tbs water **Glaze 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1 Tbs milk 1. To a mixing bowl add room temperature cream cheese and 1/4 cup + 1 Tbs sugar. Using a hand mixer, cream it together until smooth. 2. To the same bowl add pumpkin purée, egg yolk, flour, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla. Mix until well incorporated. Set aside. 3. Place defrosted puff pastry on parchment paper that’s lightly dusted with flour and roll it out a bit (about 2 inches lengthwise). Do the same to the second pastry. 4. Divide the pumpkin cream cheese filling in half and spread in the middle third portion of each pastry, leaving about 1/2 inch from top and bottom. 5. On one side from the top of pastry cut strips on a diagonal all the way down. Do this on the other side. There should be about 10 cuts on each side of pastry. 6. Start folding strips over the filling alternating sides to form a braided pattern. 7. Place both danishes on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make the egg wash by beat together the egg and water and brush it on the pastries. 8. Bake the danishes at 400° for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top. Remove from oven and allow to completely cool. 9. To make the sugar glaze in a bowl mix together milk and powdered sugar until there are no lumps. Drizzle on top of the danishes.
