Fifth Grade students studied gesture drawings and the sculptures of George Segal. Students then created their own gesture sculptures showing a specific activity or feeling using aluminum foil. Shadows of the sculptures as well as patterns were added to the base to complete these exciting works of art!

Here are TWO ways to complete this One Point Perspective lesson. I have seen this lesson in Instagram a couple different ways. I am not the originator of this lesson, but LOVE both methods of finishing! I prefer creating the 3D shapes and coloring with oil pastel on white or oak tagboard. We created out own still lifes with real cacti and drew them making sure to think about the art element of space and overlapping!
