I got these pendants for my Bat-Mitzvah from my grandmothers who have since, passed away.  Rosie, my savta was born in Hungary, her baby girl passed away in her arms in the ghetto in Budapest, she gave me the “Shema Israel” pendant.  Celia, my grandma was born in Vienna and during the war when she was only 11, she was sent to London on the Kindertransport without her parents and without knowing a word in English, she gave me the Ten Commandments pendant.
