I hear from so many people that I was going to throw it away but then it hit me. What if I need it later? Well, let's think about it. I'm a professional organizer. I've been doing it for over 20 years and I've heard that question so many times. What if I need it later? Well, here's the thing. Most of the time, you're not going to need it later. You know the things that you're remembering like, oh that one time when I didn't throw it out and I pulled it out? Yeah, that was one time out of a hundred. Most of the time you don't need the stuff that get rid of but if you're still nervous here's a good guideline I call it the 2020 rule that is if you can reacquire something or get what you need in 20 minutes or less for $20 or less really you can afford to let the thing go this works because most of the time we don't need the things that we're throwing away or we can find something else that substitutes for or we can even borrow do not hold today you in hostage for something that you might need tomorrow
