Quotes for New Mommies

My daughter is 15 weeks pregnant with her first baby & My First Grandbaby! I am putting together this board for all new Mommies to bring quotes of knowledge, experience and love to help guide & encourage them through one of life's greatest joys and challenges of raising a child. I am the Mom of two Amazing kid's. I was never a Perfect Mom. (There is no such thing!) Our children learn from our strengths and our weaknesses. What's most important I believe is to understand that none of us are perfect, Not the Parent, Nor the Child. There is no Parenting Guide that is tailored perfectly or specifically for yourself or your child. Parenting is a unique experience to each of us and to each of our children. Love, nurturing, understanding, teaching, values & morals, compassion, guidance, trust, respect, appropriate discipline and being consistent are so important to our children! Being consistent is probably where I dropped the ball a few times, by letting things slide and that's a mistake! If your child is misbehaving and you tell them the consequences for that behavior but don't enforce it, you are not doing yourself any favors & your child will not learn to respect you or the rules if you don't enforce them. A child should also learn that good behavior often is rewarded but not to the extent to where you are rewarding normal expected behavior. It is something that we learn as we go. You are teaching and loving your child and in return your child will also teach & love you! It is a learning experience for both of you! Enjoy and Embrace your children they really do grow up to fast! I love you Brianna and Brandon, and I am so very proud of both of you! Always, your Mama.
