Sticky Rice in A Bamboo?? 🎋🍚
Lemang is a Malaysian Traditional food, particularly popular during festive seasons such as Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and the Malay harvest festival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It is made by cooking glutinous rice, coconut milk, and salt in hollowed bamboo sticks that have been lined with banana leaves. The bamboo sticks are then roasted over an open fire until the rice is cooked and the bamboo has turned slightly charred. The cooking process gives the lemang a unique flavor and aroma that is slightly smoky and sweet, with a slightly sticky texture.
