Roots

I spent my childhood Summers in Normandie. I have beautiful memories of my grandparents' flower shop and community garden, my uncle's century old Pharmacie and the Parisian chic of Deauville in July and August. The rolling hills, lush greenery and rustic charm of the countryside, the taste of fresh camembert on a piece of baguette with a crisp garden salad, the funny look the cows give as you pass by on your bike, the rugged beauty of the coastline, and the delicious bounty of the sea

Normandy Cows - my favorite! How cool are their brindle spots? And the eyeliner is just beautiful, too! Love seeing these around town!

Calvados (France). 'Calvados is an apple brandy from the French region of Lower Normandy (Basse Normandie). It is sometimes abbreviated to Calva. Calvados is the basis of the tradition of le trou Normand, or "the Norman hole". This is a small drink of Calvados taken between courses in a very long meal, sometimes with apple sorbet, supposed to re-awaken the appetite. ' http://www.lonelyplanet.com/france/normandy
