Exciting Scout Crafts - Sign Language
Cub Scout sign neckerchief slide from pipecleaners. Could also be used for sign language like I love you or initials for a tie in to communication or disabilities awareness. You build a simple jig with wood and nails that the boys could also do. This site has TONs of neckerchief craft ideas!
Needed a quick game for a disability awareness evening. Came up with Blind Man's Pac-Man. Use tables and chairs to build the maze. Scouts take it in turns to be blindfolded as Pac-man while another Scout who can see guides them through the maze. 3 other scouts are blindfolded as ghosts. Pacman makes a continuous noise so they can find him. 2 footballs are placed in the maze as power pellets. If pacman touches them he becomes invincible for 10 seconds and the ghosts can be defeated by him.
How Sign Language Works
Teach Sign Language so kids can talk quietly to each other.... a Principal was doing this during lunch to keep the students quiet... I love the idea
