Cranial nerves originate in the brain and are responsible for various functions in the head, neck, and other parts of the body. 🧠 SEIZURE PHASES
1️⃣ First Phase: Prodromal → Early signs indicating the onset of a seizure → Occurs hours to days before the seizure → S+S: Anxiety, mood changes, etc. 2️⃣ Second Phase: Aura → Warning sign occurring right before the seizure → Occurs seconds to minutes before the seizure → S+S: Deja vu, sensory changes, aphasia, etc. 3️⃣ Third Phase: Ictus → Actual seizure taking place → Lasts 1-3 minutes → >5 minutes = possible status epilepticus = MEDICAL EMERGENCY 🚨 4️⃣ Fourth Phase: Postictal → Recovery after the seizure → S+S: Fatigue, confusion, loss of consciousness → Can last hours to days
