This protects the wood and saves time, and prevents damage—especially on delicate veneers! 🛡️ ✨Then apply THE GOLDEN RULE OF SANDING: Don’t Skip More Than One Grit or you’ll end up with scratches that won’t sand out! 🪵 Skipping grits when sanding can lead to uneven surfaces because each grit refines the wood gradually. Here’s why it matters: * Each grit removes scratches from the previous one, preventing visible imperfections. *Using consecutive grits reduces effort and prevents excessive wear on finer grits. *Skipping grits can leave micro-scratches that show after staining or finishing. * You want Surface Uniformity: Consistent sanding ensu

Christopher Duncan on Instagram: "General Finishes dead flat paired up with my @apollosprayershvlp is my favorite. This is the method and finish I found that keeps white oak looking the most natural. Normally when you throw a finish or an oil on white oak, you lose the natural color because it darkens or turns orange/brown. I’ve avoided that with this combo! Best case scenario you have my HVLP to lay it evenly but you can also lay it on with a foam brush. You may have to sand twice to get it as even as possible. Hope this helped someone! Also, if you think you want to make the investment in this HVLP, get a discount using “duncwoods5” at checkout 🤓. . . #whiteoak #cabinet #diy #decor #woodwork #woodworking"
