Your job is to cut down the Bloodbark trees, highly priced for their exotic red wood. The trees are bleeding, but that is natural in this species. Just one week and you are gone.

But the trees are aware of your presence. They know your intentions. They will fight back.

Bloodbark is a short horror game based on the works of Eduardo Valdés-Hevia, a known horror artist. While specially inspired on his artwork "Bloodbark", many of his other works are also featured on this game. Check his work out clicking below:

This game features 25 achievements and 2 endings. The game is full of easter eggs and, while I recommend hunting them on the second playthrough, You will likely get at least one achievement in your first.

great game really like the idea and very spooky enjoyed it a lot!

This game looks a lot like that one. Did you get inspiration from it by any chance? https://agar.boston/games/dont-escape-2.unblocked

I really enjoyed it as it built supense as we went thru the woods. The lack of music and just hearing the wind and creaks were a nice touch. I'd try something diffrent though to get less invisible walls since the trees were so spread I thought I could freeroam more than I actually could, but all in all a nice suspensful game.

Microsoft Defender gave me a warning about the game. why?

It does so with many games of itch. You can see it happen in some streams. That does not mean you shouldn't be careful around those warnings, always check! :)

how do i check if it is ok?

idk, this one game is, im just saying xd :)

This game was amazing! So well done! Great job!

Really cool concept! Loved that this was inspired by an actual art piece. It's always cool to see how some things would be like if they were made into a video game. Well done!

Cuando la sangre es más espesa que la sabia / Bloodbark / buixu

Another example of why it's always a treat to dabble in indie horror games as a niche. A simple foundation for story and gameplay yet the passive eeriness in the environment and the hallucinations tormenting the protagonist over time was excellently done, I enjoyed it wholeheartedly.

I have a playthrough (with both endings) and a review expanding upon my thoughts, all timestamped accordingly. Enjoy.

Like this kind of gryphic style!

W game

Blood from a tree is such a novel idea!

Muy buen juego, pase un rato bastante entretenido y con buenos sustos

Please Forgive Me Cat God Bean!!

The first playthrough was grand. The achievements were a nice and unexpected extra.

A delightful psychological horror.

Was not able to play the game at all. It zoomed in on the blood tree as soon as I awoke from bed and the camera was fixated on the blood tree. Nothing I could do to fix. I could walk around, but not see my character at all. Idk why I am having this issue.

Have you tried restarting the game? Might be the scene did not load quick enough for the animation to happen

that was really good! I love the story

Nice game. Much more visceral then expected

This game is AMAZING!! Definitely one of my favorite indie horror games ever.

Any support on my video is MASSIVELY appreciated! <33

very nice game

Congratulations to all the creators of this little horror game. It's a perfect game in every way. The background music is great, the story is perfect. I want the creators of this game to subscribe to my channel, please. Thank you. Greetings from Spain.

Is it a trick of the tree or the mind?

The Bloodbark trees have this ability. That might be why their wood is so expensive!

Made a video

I like this game! I felt paranoid toward the end.. Respect to developer and artist.

i'm a 14 y.o blogger from Ukraine. And i will be fappy if you watch my video. if you will - use subtitles

Got a bit paranoid, felt like the trees are always watching my every movement. Awesome game! even went and got some achievements at the end!

C'etait super =)

Good job!

This is a very special and well thought up horror game, if you really think about if trees could actually control our thoughts and minds.
We wouldn't be here.
Awesome game!

csm reference

Fresh take on psychological horror, with an odd and chilling premise- if you enjoy psychological horror don't miss out on this unique tale. The game tells a large story for being a small game.

I play your game (and a couple others) and leave feedback in the video below. You can also vote for your game to advance in my channels competition for best indie horror game of April at the following link:  https://shorturl.at/PBVQq (I shortened the link). I'll be 3D printing a scene or monster from the winning game to gift to the game developer, and you can see the one made for the winner of January here: https://shorturl.at/Aux9P

That's an epic idea! I really love it!

Wish the best for Bloodbark, but the two other games are really really good! Cant wait to dee the build regardless of who wins, I really like the Huntsman one you made.

Altough in Bloodbark's defense... the story is not linear. The second ending and secrets depend on you fully making your own path instead of following the game's. I think that's how the game got so high up on itch, because of the secrets :)

I love secrets! I am often oblivious but I'll have to revisit the game for other endings! Thank you for checking out the work that I did for huntsman, Februarys print is in the works for BrokenLores: LOW. Regardless, cant wait to find the secrets in this game!!

great game that car part was hilarious

Just gaslight yourself they're all tree's lol, Makes the game less scary!!

9/10 stuff! Big win

What a game amazing concept save trees

This was a great concept. Loved the story.

A nice execution of Valdés-Hevia's idea — and the game itself is well made. The hero's motivation while going crazy could have been shown a little better though...
But anyway, thanks a lot!

HI!Cool game but to looooooooooooooong and i find bug(or i just stupid)

A pretty well-made game with an interesting story and plot twist (SPOILER NOW). I wish the tree would have grabbed you when you spooked it, and it had hands. It would have been cool if you woke up on the ground from a dream next to the tree and you actually passed out and thought the tree grabbed you

Fun game, awesome premise and good visuals that I really enjoyed! Wish I had time to go through and see if I could’ve gotten the second ending!

The premise of this game is very interesting. Very fun too!

A masterpiece of a game with an amazing tone for the game and so many hidden achievements it keeps you hooked, it is a must play if ever I played one.

Very well crafted game! Had a lot of fun with all the different achievements :D

Your Horror Game is so crazy, Sir Tartarus! I got two endings and 17 out of 25 achievements in my gameplay (Plus, I only got 11 out of 20 marks, the remaining 9 marks were hard to find)

Hello, I think the game is really well-made. I came across this game while I was planning to kick-start my youtube career as well. So, I thought I would do a short horror game. It's crazy how much details are put into this game
I did not expect the cat part like AT ALL (spoilers!!!). There are so many eastereggs which I am sure I still haven't explored yet. I have been trying to make similar style games with ps2 effects as well and really great to see what you put out.
Great execution and I would love to see more games from you! Below is my reaction to the game as well and I did not think so many people were doing it as well haha.
