Arham Health Retreat - PALLI MUDRA (For cultivating trust in your inner guide and instilling self-trust) Palli means “shelter” and this mudra provides the shelter that we need to tune inward and connect to our inner sense of trust, support and centering allowing you to do and to become ‘all that you are’. The Palli Mudra draws senses inward & upward; opens heart & throat chakras. It strengthens inner fire, giving you confidence, optimism and energy by activating Air & Space elements. Physically you feel more embodied, grounded, calm, and focused. This cultivates confidence, optimism, and energy for the journey of life. As you holds this mudra, you may begin to experience ease in breathing throughout the entire torso, supporting the health of all body systems. The mudra allows the breath to move up and down the spinal column allowing one to find both inner and outer alignment through elongating the spine and creating more spaciousness and steadiness. It supports a willingness in releasing old limiting belief patterns that no longer support our ongoing growth and transformation. As we release those old beliefs we open to experiencing our true self as whole and joyful. We learn to trust ourselves and the wisdom of our inner guide. Affirmation :"Trusting the guidance of my inner being, I move forward with confidence. I trust my inner truth which guides me on the path of life." Method of doing Palli Mudra: Step 1 : Sit in Padmasana, Ardh Padmasana or Sukhasana. Keep your back straight and eyes shut. Brings spine into correct alignment. Breath fully feeling your breath from throat to chest till the abdomen. This helps you center and focus energy and thoughts. Invokes sense of steadiness and security. Step 2 : Wrap the middle finger over the index finger. Touch the tip of the thumbs to the tips of the ring finger on the same hand, extend the little fingers straight out. Rest the back of the hands onto the knees or thighs. Alternatively, this gesture can be held with the hands at shoulder height, with the palms facing forward. Relax the shoulders back and down, with the spine naturally aligned. Focus on breathing for 15 - 20 minutes twice a day. Duration for Palli Mudra: Hold this Mudra for 15 - 45 minutes, held with both hands, palms facing up in meditative posture with spine erect and tall. When practised this in meditation, increases full breathing, especially in the back body, helping to lengthen the spine and allow it to find it’s true alignment again. At the subtle level, alignment also flows through the sense of integrity to ourselves and outward to the world around us. This inspired, meditative practice will awaken your senses, allowing you to enjoy life fully. Benefits of practicing Palli Mudra: • Cultivates both physical alignment and inner centering • Instills faith within oneself • Aids balanced digestion, and full breathing • Good for self-confidence, optimism and calmness • Aligns all energy centers (Chakras) • Focus inward, you are able to find there your inner voice of truth • Experience of deeper levels of inner freedom • Deep rest, balance and restores energies • Unfolds the spiritual you, you become radiant, joyful, and light.
