This is one of the problems with incorporating technology in schools. Many people and schools lack the funds needed to purchase the equipment that is required for the effective running of a modern classroom. This could create an even larger education disparity between more wealthy areas and poorer ones.
This shows the reasons why teachers like to use technology in the classroom. Students clearly respond well to the increased role of technology in the educational process, so what is holding it back?
Some statistics about a flipped classroom, which relies heavily on technology to function. Clearly, the flipped classroom technique can be used to great effect with the help of technology.
A classroom full of laptops, with a smartboard at the front of the room. In theory, this offers an ideal learning environment, since students can interact with the instructor, but in actuality, it's more likely for the students to be on facebook the whole class period.
An interesting comic about how books in general are being downplayed in favor of higher tech options. This affects the classroom too, in that many people would prefer to find the answers they need online rather than searching through a textbook.
We used to have smartboards all over the place in my high school, but I never really found them to be all that interactive or helpful. The same effect could usually be accomplished by projecting a slideshow onto a whiteboard.

We are also planning on interviewing Dr. DeRouchey. His opinion was basically the opposite of Mirabito's, so it should help us see both sides of the argument from the professors' point of view. What are his reasons for disliking technology use in the classroom? What information does he have to support his opinion?
We are planning on interviewing Dr. Mirabito for our documentary. What does he have to say on the subject? When I had my first lecture in his class he said he didn't care whether or not we used technology in class. He seems pretty opinionated on the subject, so his opinion should help out for our project.
ROFL
What to do when the Internet is Down. This poster is humorous but, but it shows the dependence this generation has on technology. When technology is unavailable, people have issues functioning. Though this is an exaggeration, it shows how society is becoming more and more technology based. It makes me wonder, does this apply to everyone? how does this dependence affect students or people in the work place and productivity?
