Anzac Bridge, spanning Johnstons Bay at Glebe, is one of Sydney's most recognisable landmarks, together with its commemorative Digger statue. It was opened in December 1995, replacing the adjacent old Glebe Island Bridge, and named Anzac Bridge on Armistice Day (November 11), 1998, as a memorial to the Anzacs, soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps in World War I.
