Lego angle technique

When I watched one of Nick Trotta's awesome videos I noticed that he created a buildable slope like this. It seems to align very well in his video, but not in Bricksmith. I didn't know about this relation, but like it. Seems like an efficient way to create a good looking angle. Technique details on Swooshable.

Today we'll be looking at the piece 43710 Wedge 4 x 2 Triple Left (three surfaces) circled in the picture. The piece is super useful, but only at certain scales, as you can see from the picture that when multiple are using, the edges are not defined and the build doesn't look great: it could be better.To try and make a better version tried using one 1x4 swivel hinge and two 1x2 hinge brick, to position a 3x6 wedge plate and emit the exact angles of the original piece. The Inverted Slope 2x1x3 a special kind of slope. It is inverted and has an angle of 75 degrees, but unlike other slopes it has 3 anti-studs on its opposite side.This allows you to attach it to plates that are 3 studs long, or on any other plates but at their ends. In set 31036, Toy & Grocery shop, a door is placed at an angle (see step 23 in the instructions for the primary model). How did they make the angle? It's not a 3-4-5 triangle. In Step A we see that a 2x4 can be placed on a grid of studs in two ways. This is because the two diagonals between the corner studs are of equal length. I have seen something similar recently, but I don't think it was the exact same technique. Anyway, here is this "illegal", but useful trick.

For today's technique, we will look at how to use hinges to angle parts, and how to cover the gaps. Hinges create a natural gap between them that can be filled over easily if they are flat, as its only a 1 studs gap, so plates connect over it as shown. However, when you start to angle the hinge pieces, a gap is created that is harder to fill in and requires plates to be built up as seen in the picture.
