The artwork is usually but not exclusively on a white background with a dark black detail for increased contrast. The technique does not use shading but relies on distance between lines and contouring to create the illusion of depth and light. For the Principles of Design I did balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, and rhythm. The hardest I thought was rhythm because you had to combine movement and pattern together.
