It’s custom built by professional finish carpenters, but I’m going to give you all the info to DIY. We had the BEST finish carpenters in all the land @awesometrimwork working on our home, and they custom built our mantle for a look we loved and so that we could match it to the wood beam and kitchenette wood stain we put in down there. So… I reached out to thfor the details, and here’s what they said: “We built the mantle using Clear Alder. It’s a pretty simple but sleek design. We ordered a 6” cove crown moulding from a local mill and ran that on the inside of our outer box. Andrea on Instagram: "There was one spot to put a tv in our living room and that was above the fireplace. The fireplace is tall and deep so it made the tv too high to view comfortably. With our MantleMount at @bestbuy we are able to pull the tv down to a comfortable viewing height, it clears my seasonal decor and is easy to put back up. Since we have gas logs, it’s to turn the fire off when we want to watch tv or we just put it back up. However, the fireplace installer also said we could probably watch tv (just not the whole day) with a fire going since it’s a full two feet from the fire and the mantle is 12” deep so it blocks most of the heat. Having the ability to pull the tv down and turn it to whichever angle we want is perfect!
