in case you’ve forgotten, the “department of government efficiency (doge)” IS NOT A DEPARTMENT. it is not a government department. they are calling it that so that people treat it like it is. it is just a name. doge is not a department. departments must be determined by congress. it was not. and by doing so, the trump administration is essentially saying it can create whatever governmental departments it wants and people will start to believe it. that is not a power that the executive has. we need to stop just saying “the department of government efficiency” without qualifying that it, IS NOT, a department.
