Steve is determined not to attend the 10th-year Hawkins High School reunion. His life is a disaster: he has no success to celebrate, he recently divorced Nancy, and he’s scared to face his old classmates, especially Tommy. He used to be his best friend, and maybe even something more, but they were young and they were just experimenting.
After an embarrassing accident, Tommy asks Steve to move in with him. It will be fun, like those sleepovers they used to do as kids. No second purpose at all.
