Saqib Nawaz
I am doing a PhD at the Swinburne University of Technology. Previously, I completed a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology (Business Systems) and a Graduate Certificate in Research and Innovation Management. My research is centred on individuals' excessive smartphone use and the effectual/productive use of smartphones. My current research aims to explore suitable/easy to adopt strategies for identifying and managing problematic smartphone use and dependence. Similarly, this research incorporates how different demographics/socioeconomic factors contribute to PSU and how to differentiate effectual (productive) smartphone use from ineffectual (unproductive) use. Thus, motivations behind excessive smartphone use and dependence can be addressed accordingly. My academic enthusiasm also lies in the philosophical foundation of Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction and Social Sciences research, focusing on the social and cultural theory, theory development, and design practices of how people behave or act while using technology. Particularly while exploring the impact of personality and circumstances/environment on their behaviours.
