Story time: I used to sit at the library for hours to mooch the wifi and work on my fics. Almost every day, the same person would sit across from me. We both had our established spots and no one ever really took them. Couple months passed and I was working when I got an email from Ao3 saying a story I was following had updated. I proceeded to take a break to grin and giggle behind my hand throughout the story. I left a comment and went back to my writing. Not five minutes later, the person’s phone went off, and they started grinning and typing on their phone. Another few minutes go by… And my phone pings that the author has replied to my comment.

Long story short, we traded a few odd looks while we both typed on our phones, before we finally put the pieces together and realized we were talking to each other while sitting across from each other. Turns out we were mutual followers of each other and ended up talking for hours about our favourite fics.

I was having sentient Gotham thoughts and I realized I mostly refer to Gotham as 'she' and I know that's not necessarily uncommon ('Gotham's knight and her prince') and that a lot of people use the good ole 'it' but the reason I bring it up is because I also had a realization that I, in my head, refer to Gotham with feminine names that start with G.

Initially it was Gloria but I've moved to jumping between Genesis (Because 'birth' and Gotham gave birth to Batman) and Grace (Because 'Her Grace').

So, that's cool :)

Yess Gotham has been consistently been referred to as “she”, most notably by Bruce and Jason which I find to be SO incredibly interesting. I also think it’s common to refer to cities with she/her pronouns but idk enough about linguistics to say for sure. Like the personification of Gotham and her portrayal throughs Bruce’s and other people’s eyes is so fascinating and often directly reflects on how they try to help her.

you can love a character and still admit when they’re wrong. i love jason todd but i can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) & i can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he’s never done anything wrong in his life) & call him out for his actions (which are always correct)!

It's so funny to me when people said that Damian is the only BatFamily member that Bruce didn't choose/want/was forced into caring as if we didn't watch that boy tried to leave on multiple occasions only for Bruce/the other BatFamily chasing him down and dragging him back kicking and screaming

Jason Todd is so me in the way that we are both so creative in coming up with stuff (mine are fanfic plots, his are murder revenge plots but if you SQUINT-) but are absolutely dogshit with names. All my fic names are lyrics I don’t even make an attempt and GOD FORBID I need to name a character. Jason didn’t have to name himself Red hood but he’s self conscious enough to know any name he would have come up with would have been awful. I support this representation

One of Bruce Wayne’s biggest problems is that a large part of his philosophy when dealing with his personal relationships is that “I’d rather they’d be safe and alive while hating me than dead or injured while loving me” which leads him to push the people that love him away because he thinks so little of himself that he majorly undermines just how much that hurts them.

Because if he hates himself with such passion how could it be conceivable for anyone to love him so much that to them, the pain of losing him is worse than any physical pain could be? Kind of the motto “if you love someone you’d let them go” but when the people he’s trying to push away are so devoted to him that they KEEP COMING BACK, it ends up falling into a cycle of violence that hurts everybody. What he doesn’t GET is that they hold him on such a high pedestal that his act of pushing them away translates to THEM not being good enough instead of HIM not being good enough.

In case anyone is curious, in the latest run of Blue & Gold, the Booster Gold and Blue Beetle series, Booster live streams the majority of their hero work, and there’s a recurring viewer/commenter who I have confirmed is Jason Todd.

It’s the gray one, and there’s MANY more comments in the actual series so read it!

Anyways, I had a crazy conspiracy theory last year and joked with my friends like “that’s Jason Todd!” but we laughed it off. In September though, I went to Comic-Con and met Dan Jurgens, the creator of Booster Gold, and asked him about it.

AND ITS TRUE! ITS JASON!

Bawling my eyes out at the thought of Dick’s last bit of parting advice for Damian on how to be Bruce’s Robin (before he went back to blud) being “just pretend to fall asleep during a stake out. Trust me”

Of course Damian’s sceptical and it takes him a long time to even THINK about making himself look that vulnerable but his curiosity eventually wins and he pretends to fall asleep during a boring night.

He thought he was prepared for all possibilities but he was not prepared for Bruce to call out his name, sigh softly and scoop him up, not letting go of him even once until they reach his bed (he will never admit it but he actually did end up falling asleep). He was absolutely not prepared for Bruce to take his shoes off, tuck him in and hesitate just a little second before giving him a forehead kiss and leaving the room silently. He ends up actually falling asleep on the very next week
