Gazan Artist Donation Dive Part 3

Our next Gazan artist is my dear friend Fadi Thabet, an international award winning photographer. He is known for his street photography, a way for him to express his passion for photography while documenting the everyday life of Gaza. He captures faces in a unique way to highlight beauty amongst the hardship and the unexpected.

Check out his art through photography in a song that I wrote. All what you see in the background are Fadi's photographs.

Fadi lost his home in Gaza and many of his family and friends, he lost count of the times he was displaced in this genocide.

Please show him your support and love through this 5 day campaign. We are hoping to send him $1000 to help with his suffering and above all, to show Fadi that we see him and appreciate his art and talent.

@mariampoetry got in touch with Yumna and I cannot express how happy she was not only because of the donations, but that you all decided to support her work as an artist in Gaza! She told us that more than anything, the news that we all appreciated her work specifically was literally THE BEST news she recieved since the start of the genocide.

Something I cannot emphasize enough as an artist myself (as well as my friend Mariam) is that when you're recognized and supported for your work it is one of the best feelings in the world. To know you all supported Reem and now Yumna... it's so so amazing.

Yumna wanted to let you guys know, she hopes that your donations and support are returned back to you all ten fold. This good news made her day, to know that there are people out there that support her for who she is as an artist.

Remember we only have a few more hours to raise $1000 USD. Right now we are at $552 USD. We can't wait more than a week for each artist as the need for funds is incredibly dire and time sensitive. Let's get to our goal before our next artist!

Mutual aid for Palestinian artists in Gaza!

This video is a poem written by Palestinian poet @mariampoetry and sung by the amazing Gazan singer Reem from Gaza. The video is taken by Mahmoud Shamia of the destruction from the past year throughout Gaza.

My friend Mariam is fundraising again for many different Gazan artists and their families, including Reem's, and wanted to ask for your help in gathering $8,000 to help support them this coming winter.

After a year of daily massacres, so many Palestinians in Gaza are feeling hopeless and let down by humanity. But Mariam decided to do something and I hope you can help with her mission!

So many of her friends have left their homes in a hurry leaving everything they own behind. They're lacking basic necessities with most people becoming displaced more than ten different times. And with winter on the horizon, they need warm clothes and blankets, to help them weather the long, cold nights, and womens' hygiene kits all of which are incredibly scarce and expensive.

Mariam has asked me to help with her efforts to collect funds for 8 of her friends and their families. We are hoping to send $1000 for each family to help them prepare for the harsh winter in tents amidst constant bombings.

Emergency Fund for an Artist in Gaza

A family friend reached out to me to ask about raising funds for her friend, an artist in Khan Younis. Mariam, who is the family friend, is a poet and a songwriter herself and is very connected to the art community in Gaza. Her tumblr is @mariampoetry.

The friend in Gaza, who requested to stay anonymous, urgently requires funds within the next few days to stay in the home she's currently seeking shelter in. The family she's staying with are demanding a payment of $1000 USD "rent", or else the artist will have to pick up her family and stay outside in the sweltering heat.

We will be raising $2000 USD for her. This includes potential paypal fees, wire transfer fees, and other fees that banks in Gaza place on the money, which can go up to 30% of the money received. If any extra funds are left over, then they will be transferred to the artist for anything she might need.

Please send money to @/miriampoet on paypal. Mariam is a very trustworthy individual and I've personally known her very well since I was a kid, so I can definitely vouch for her.

So many Gazans' artists have been martyred, I miss all of my talented friends who I've shared beautiful memories with. My friend is a very proud person and hesitated in asking me for help. If she couldn't pay the rent in time she and her family will be forced out to the street with not even a tent or a safe place. She is native to Rafah and has been displaced to Khan Younis twice. Any amount contributed to this fund is very appreciated!
