SURPRISE! I have a second Sonic AU. Mainly fueled by the fact I kind of want a "Classic" and "Modern" AU if you get what I mean. With Legacy of Chaos being the Modern AU while The Freedom Fight is the Classic AU.
It blends elements of Sonic Under Underground, Sonic SatAM and the Archie comics. (With a few touches here and there from the games and IDW when needed.)
So here we have designs for the triplets, one of their Freedom Fighting companions, Sally Acorn, their mother, Queen Aleena, and a roboticized King Lance.
More details about this AU in the future but I hope for now you enjoy the designs.

So, admittedly I have not reached the story this boy is featured in but oh honey soon as I learned about him I wanted him for Legacy of Chaos.
A Metal Sonic that became his own robot? Has his own name? Has a really bad ace design? SOLD!! So here is my spin on Shard for Legacy of Chaos. I don't know how I'll be implementing him but I wanted to jot down a design for future use. It's not too drastically different from how he was in Archie, mainly just minor tweaks and personal additions.
Details on him as a character I'll elaborate at a later date.
For now, hope you enjoy.

Okay but in seriousness this was fun for me to design a younger Chuck for Legacy of Chaos. I wanted to keep the essence of how he was in SATAM and Archie but want to incorporate my own spins. For example, I did tone down how bushy his eyebrows are. I wanted them to feel more like quills than hair. Also he has more fluff compared to his younger brother to give some additional difference. (Genetics are fuuuuun) Also tweaked his quill design to be a little different as well. And of course, shaved off his mustache. Which is a signature for him but he'll get that when he's a bit older. (Maybe, debating on it at the moment.) Outfit was a great time too. Pulled a lot of inspo from Archie then added some personal touches.
And yeah... That's about it. Very happy with how this boy came out. Can't wait for him to make his debut in Knight of the Wind.
Hmm... Lotus is looking different today. Not sure why but can't quite put my finger on it.
Ah well. Still cute as ever.

Though in seriousness: It's a time honored tradition I draw characters as a different species on April 1st as a joke. So Lotus was the candidate this year. And since I'm back in Sonic made sense to draw her as Mobian Cat. In particular an Egyptian Mau.

So... working on this for the month of February didn't quite work out. XD; Work and burn out decided to knock me out so... change of plans. I know I said I would wait till I had two pages done buuuut I think scaling it back to one is fine too. Just trying to not put to much pressure on myself. I do wanna see this story through so worry not, I will see this project to completetion.
Anywhosen! Looks like Atem has just had a string of bad luck when it comes to suitors. Poor guy.
Some character design exploration. I wanted to try designing some echidna characters to help flesh out the world of Legacy of Chaos since game wise we don't really know much about the Echidna Clan. In Legacy of Chaos they hail from a Latin America inspired location (much like the Adventure Games since it was abundantly clear the locale of the Mystic Ruins were based on Aztec step pyramids. Also I did pull some inspiration from the Paramount Film for certain aspects of their outfits.) so I wanted that to show it through the character designs. Hence we get Cualli and Atzi here. They are from two of the three clans I have planned for the Echidna. One that is based around fire, the other based around water. I don't have a ton of information for these two yet since they were mainly a case in character design exploration but I do plan to flesh them out. Just know for now that Cualli has fire abilities and Atzi is has water abilities and has a golem kitty named Indigo that she made with said abilities.
I have a lot of fun coming up with the outfits and playing with the hairstyles for these two. I might make adjustments in the future as I flesh out the world of Legacy of Chaos but for now, I hope you enjoy.

Holy buckets this took longer than I would've liked. I legit sketched all this back on March 3rd and only today was I able to get everything completed. 8'D Inspiration and free time are kind of a rare thing for me these days. But regardless, AAAAAA finally! I drew these after I wrote a short drabble for the ritual that was performed to let Lotus follow Atem into the modern era. I wanted something warm and tender for these two. Especially for Lotus since up until this point tragedy had hit her hard. (Zorc really ruined her life with what he did.) So finally she gets a break and seeing Atem smiling... Something she thought she would never see again. It brings her a huge comfort.

With "The Knight of the Wind" underway (Available to read on AO3 for those interested) I thought it would be fun to make profiles of the cast that feature in the story. I figure as we go through stories in Legacy of Chaos it would have these serve as fun extras alongside the stories as they come out. Plus, I only have to draw characters when they make a major appearance. So, starting off we have Lance, albeit this will be him once we get past the prologue of his story since currently where we are, he's still 15. He'll be 18 later on since there will be a time jump.
I am SO happy to see his look all come together in a final render. And I am very pleased with this little template I put together for the profiles. I modeled it after the page appearances in the The Complete Sonic Comic Encyclopedia. And.... yeah. More to come as the story continues.

Lupin being sweet to Whisper and the aftermath teasing from Tangle. XD Because that's what besties do when you're in love.
When it comes to Lupin and Whisper, Lupin was very careful about how he expressed his affections to Whisper since he picked up that she needs time to open up. So he would do more small gestures like giving her a flower or offering help or just chit chatting and the occasional compliment. He didn't want her to feel pressured to go faster than she needed to. He wanted to match her pace which Whisper appreciated.
First time drawing Whisper and Tangle and I am so dang happy with how both came out. <3 Plus was testing out some copic marker brushes I got. I lover the texture they gave for these doodles of mine.

New Sonic OC!
Meet Lupin! He's a mercenary of sorts that specializes in sabotaging villainous schemes be it through heists or other means. He is also an expert in forging power and warp rings for perosnal use. Skills he acquired due to coming from a family of ring mystics.
Lupin is mischievous but is quite a gentleman too. Especially around women.
He is actually a friend of Rouge's and the two have done a couple heists together. He finds her obsession with jewels rather amusing though isn't always approving of her jewel heists. (And teases her about her crush on Knuckles. She returns in kind when she finds out he's developed a crush on a certain "Guardian Angel")
He also has a rather odd relationship with The Chaotix. Mainly in that Vector has beef with him yet is good friends with Espio and Charmy. The beef having come from Lupin beating Vector to the punch on some cases. (Unintentionally most of the time.) That and Vector isn't a fan of how Lupin does his work. It's lead to an odd dynamic of Vector chasing after Lupin when he's gotten in his way. Lupin finds it to be a fun game and loves the thrill of it.

The waters before him were violent. Rising and crashing, its swirling foamy tides threatening to pull in anything that came too close. The thunderstorm overhead only made the sight even more frightening. Rain was coming down in sheets and lightning was cracking across the sky, illuminating how dark the waters truly were.
Generally, the Emerald Ocean was considered a beautiful sight to see when visiting the east coast of Aetemora. But at this moment during a storm like this, it made the ocean a scene from a nightmare.
Lance swallowed hard as he moved closer to the edge of the beach he was on, the ice cold waves grabbing lightly at the hedgehog’s bare feet. He shuddered, trying to shake off the sensation. He had to tune it out if he was going to make this journey.
He gazed across the ocean, the lightning illuminating the destination he desired. Far off in the distance were a group of islands that were barely visible from where Lance was standing. It was over a hundred miles if he had to guess… and it was those over hundred miles he was going to have to endure.
This is my last shot at escaping the Echidna.
