man I don’t get senior grad TAs who are huge assholes about deadlines and participation grades and shit. like this is just my experience so I don’t want to generalise too much, but as someone who’s been a TA for a long time there’s a certain point where professors just basically let you conduct your classes however you want. and if you “break the rules” by allowing a student to hand something in late without docking them marks like nine times out of ten the prof doesn’t even notice. like just calm down dude it’s not a big deal
#misc.txt#the number one lesson I’ve taken away from teaching is that most of it is arbitrary#like your grade is not a good indicator of how ‘good’ of a student you are#so much of it is discretionary and based on who is teaching you lol#obviously on large scales with like hundreds of students there needs to be outer boundaries around handing stuff in and everything#but like if you have a class of 20 students. who gives a fuck
