i honestly love making my Poseidon the tallest of olympians instead. someone needs to bring Zeus down every once in a while

I agree with you except I think it's poseidon that needs to be brought down cause he is a bigger menace than Zeus imo lmao. Also we love the "short and angry" trope hehe.

my new favorite thing is whenever artists making WYFILWMA animatics have Odysseus get angry at Penelope for suggesting he move the bed but still turn around and start doing it

Like "fuck you how dare you" but he's still gonna do it because we never say no to wifey

Can we please appreciate Odysseus being a silent stalker in the shadows, taking out suitors with his bow, not deigning to speak to them as he takes them out one by one

until some of them go "we have to strike him in the darkness too! we know the halls of this palace! the odds can be tilted!"

and Odysseus, built this palace with his very hands, has to step out of the shadows like "are you this fucking stupid"

Odysseus: I am different, I am no longer the man you married, it's been 20 long years but if you could just fall in love with me again?
Penelope: if you can do something for me
Odysseus: anything
Penelope: move my wedding bed.
Odysseus: I can't, it's made out of a living tree, to move it I would have to destroy it. How can yo-
Penelope: oh, I thought we were asking each other stupid questions?
Odysseus:
Penelope: 'FaLl iN lOvE wItH mE aGaiN' to do that I would have had to stop loving you.

I wonder if even after Odysseus returns, Telemachus still wakes up in a cold sweat some nights and goes to pace in front of his motherโ€™s door. Thereโ€™s light and loud talking and laughing and Telemachus grips his sword tightly, tense as he knows he canโ€™t let anyone near.

The door opens and Telemachus jolts, turning to see a man standing in the doorway behind him. He lunges forward, but the man grabs his wrist and shoulder, disarming him and bringing him to the ground. He closes his eyes, bracing himself and feeling a burn in his throat. He failed. He canโ€™t protect her. He-

Suddenly there are gentle hands on his face. A soothing voice replacing the cacophony that the prince realizes had never existed. He looks into his fatherโ€™s eyes with shame, blinking back tears as the king gently takes him into his arms. Odysseus promises his son that heโ€™s safe, brings him back to rest beside him and Penelope, and lets him have just a few hours of peace before it happens again.

Just thoughts.
