sometimes i think about the casualty of touching and sharing space in dps.
todd sitting on neils bed while he types up the letter in his father's name. neil leaning on todd with that stupid grin. todd jumping into neil's arms.
meeks and pitts dancing and holding hands. sharing headphones.
charlie shoving his friends out of the way so knox can talk to chris, grabbing meeks specifically. "because women swoon."
it doesn't take away any significance of them comforting todd in the end. it doesn't make anything heavier, but it shows that they are close. forced proximity by the fact that they all kind of live together, but chosen intimacy because they are friends.
which is why this movie seems so queer, but also is just top tier media about friendship, depending on the interpretation. because friendship isn't any less valuable or close. it doesn't deny physical intimacy, sharing spaces, overlapping them by holding a hand, shoulder to shoulder, a hug.
