Ever the work in progress. This is where you will find various bits of my writing, be it poetry, original stories, or fanfics. Please hover over the links below to find my content!

Hello, I'm Everilde (or Ash, as some know me best)! I have been writing all my life, but this is the first time I've ever created a Tumblr for it. I currently write fanfiction and post on AO3, but wanted a space with more community, where I could share my other WIPs and original fiction. Expect to find info on those, fanfic updates, and various other things here. I'm looking forward to experiencing this writing community and finding new stories to read and writers to follow!

About Me

Age: 32

Pronouns: She/Her

Likes: Writing & reading (obviously), digital art, video games, tarot, art journaling, dungeons & dragons, cartoons (never too old!), coffee, animals, and so much more.

What I Write:

Mainly Fantasy, Romance, Adventure… typically all at once. I write fanfiction as well, usually about video games I love. I also enjoy writing short scenes based on dreams I have, but I usually don't categorize those under specific genres.

Do note: My stories sometimes contain adult themes and nsfw content. Violence may also appear depending on the setting, but I am highly unlikely to write anything too detailed and gory.

WIPs under the cut!

I am still setting my blog up, so my pages dedicated to these works are not complete. I'll make proper WIP intro posts for each as I finish their pages!

Look, I have my own issues with booktok and the more and more frequent misplacement of adult literature in the YA genre, but the absolute pearl clutching about the existence of smutty books in general sends me to the fucking moon. The moral panic about women experiencing sexuality in its many forms is just so baffling to me. Erotic literature and art have been around longer than the pearl clutchers and it’ll be here after them.

Read/watch/write/draw/star in more porn.

Sex isn't dirty, and masturbating is normal, don't let religion make you chicken

honestly, writing erotic scenes has and still helps me to embrace my own sexuality and fight the internal struggles and guilt that a religious upbringing branded me with. so yeah, indulge more!

(also reading/writing/drawing are safe ways to explore ideas/fantasies/etc that you might not be as comfortable with IRL. and i think that's perfectly healthy)

One of my biggest issues as a fanfiction writer is I'm often very quick to post. I get an idea, I get excited, I write the first chapter or two, and then I post. Even if I don't have the rest of it figured out yet. And while I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing and can work well for certain stories, it's also something I want to improve on. I'm always in awe of writers who will write the entire fanfic before posting.

What ends up happening is I will hit a point where I look back and think, "This could be structured better, these chapters could be combined or organized better, but now they're all posted and the story has 11 bookmarks and I can't just remove it and then repost it after I've reworked things, can I??"

but that's exactly what I want to do. Or, at the very least, leave it up, rework the chapters, and then edit what's posted with what's new. But even that seems a hassle, especially for old readers.

Anyway, I'm just venting to the void. I've had absolutely no time or energy to write, but it's constantly on my mind and I want to so badly.

Characters out of context tag

Rules: Include one character quote of your choosing from each chapter of your WIP (or as many chapters as you'd like). Give absolutely no context, save for what's between two parts of an interrupted sentence, should that occur. You may mention who said it.

Thank you for the tag @star-studded-whales (even if I am very late in doing it)!!

Since I haven't been working on any original works lately, I'm going to use my OW fanfic:

  1. "So here's the deal. Your robots here, they got good scrap on 'em. Scrap we need. That's why they's here. But you! We told 'em I'd pop a bomb in your mouth and blow ya up if they tried to fight. Came noiice and quiet, they did. Be a shame to blow up such a pretty sheila, but then… ain't nothin prettier than an explosion…”
  2. “So, what I'm hearin' Is that this here's a rich bitch from some suit out in Numbani who'd pay a loooot'a money to get 'er back. That right?”
  3. “You're in a wasteland, honey, stuck in a city ruled by one of the deadliest Junkers this world's ever seen.”
  4. “What, are ya stupid? I’m takin’ you to a damn shower.”
  5. “Think she said Vag-atarian. Sorry Sheila, you’re in Greasy Bits, not Lady Bits!”
  6. “And after how nice I was tryin’ to be, letting you use my own shower… Pity whoever sent you won’t get nothin’ back from this. Ya won’t be livin’ long enough.”
  7. “M’not helpin’ her to help her... M’just giving my subjects a worthy show.”
  8. “So here's the deal. Either you stick around, learn to fight, and earn your freedom in the Scrapyard… or I toss ya through the gate and let ya fend for yourself in the Outback.”
  9. “She sees you like this? She won’t even give you a chance. You’ll be tossed out the gate in no time. Junkertown can’t waste resources on the weak.”

Leaving this an open tag, so if you see it and want to do it - you're tagged!

in other news i can see i've missed a LOT of tag games, so i'm going to be responding to those. forgive the multiple posts you'll see from me tonight!

given tumblr's new AI situation (idk all the details exactly) I probably won't be posting much if any of my actual writing here. I know I haven't been active in a few months (life happens), but even so! I'll post updates, chatter, snippets... but I think I'll be posting all of my actual writing on just AO3, fanfics and original work included.

I have been SO busy and overwhelmed. I'm having surgery this Friday and took the week off of work to prepare, so I'm actually hoping to find time to write now that I'll have some free time for it. What will I write? I have no idea. Maybe some fanfic stuff. I haven't written in a while & that'd probably be a decent warm-up.

Whatever it ends up being, I'm excited to try.

My surgery ended up getting canceled by the hospital the day before (and I have no idea when they'll get it rescheduled). I lost an entire week of work/pay prepping for this & I've been waiting for this surgery for 3 years.

And then my pc died.

So I am not having a great time.

Fortunately I have an iPad and a keyboard for it, so if I'm compelled to write I can use that. Or pen & paper, but in my household that would be far less private.

For now my only comfort has been rotting in bed & playing Stardew on my switch. But that has sparked some fanfic ideas, so there's that!

Life decided to be complicated and I've been too exhausted to write. A slow start to NaNo it'll be this year, but we soldier on.

OC Description Tag

Thank you for tagging me @mister-writes here!

Rules: Share an excerpt from your WIP that describes one of your OCs.

This is from the story I'm going to write for NaNoWrimo called The Glass Ship. The description comes in different parts, so I'm adding each bit.

And so I looked and the eye opened, and in its stare I saw a woman. Her hair was golden and short, cut like a man's with shaggy strands that fell into her face. Her eyes were hazel, then blue, shimmering like sunlight on the open sea. When her lips parted, she laughed a melody. … She parted the veil around her bed and eased herself down onto the cushions, watching me with those eyes as blue as the sea and a smile as confident as the sun. It had stunned me when I first saw it in the town center. … She smelled like smoke, like bonfires in the summer and the crisp burn of sweet wood. She smelled like spring water, a touch of cheap cologne that I'd never smelled on the men from my district. She smelled like heat and yearning, like summer nights and lazy mornings. Like everything I craved and needed.

Gently tagging @janec23 @star-studded-whales @cosmo-lexies @justnerdy15 and open tag for anyone who sees this and wants to share!

Sharing from the Sapphic Beauty & the Beast retelling again.

“May I know your name?” Her wine was half-way to her mouth but she paused, holding the goblet in place. “Seren.” “Lord Seren.” I liked how it sounded; it reminded me of ravens. “Just Seren, if you'd like.” She took a sip of her drink and added: “I am aware you are telling the servants to stop calling you ‘lady’, so I suppose we may drop titles.” “Seren…” I said, testing it. “What does it mean?” “In the old tongue, it meant ‘star’.” “Does my name have a meaning in the old tongue?” “Every name does. Anwen means ‘beauty’.”

As always, there's no obligation and please let me know if you don't want to be tagged in the future!

Out of context line tag

I was tagged by both @justnerdy15 and @cosmo-lexies thank you both! Check out their posts here and here!

Rules: share an out of context line from a wip

From my Sapphic Beauty & the Beast Retelling

“Your hair will be so soft and lovely!” she chimed. While I worked to dry off, she glided over to the wardrobe to pull out the emerald gown I was fated to wear.  “What is so special about this dress?” I asked, but Mrs. Potterson only shrugged.  “Couldn’t tell ya, dear, maybe our liege simply likes the color.”  “Then perhaps our liege should wear it instead.”

Leaving this an open tag b/c I've been away for a little while and don't know who's done this recently and who hasn't. But if you do it, please tag me so I can read your WIP lines!

Does anyone else keep a Writing Craft Journal? Like a journal where you write down tips and ideas and methods for different writing craft related things to reference when you write? I don't remember when or why i started one, but I highly recommend lol. I'm ALWAYS saving posts on tumblr or pinterest with writing tips that get lost & forgotten. My journal keeps the stuff I want to reference again close and organized.

Even if my writing is messy
