Hey here's some unsolicited decor advice: get a bowl. put it on your coffee table. fill it with objects that are Good To Hold. Watch your guests be satisfied.
For example, I have this bowl of polished rock orbs. (and one glass ball.) they serve no purpose but everyone who comes into my home picks up at least one of them and just kinda rolls it around in their hands.

Lore wise, wouldn't the king more closely mirror the pale king, rather than the radience? I mean, PK wanted an "eternal kingdom" frozen in time, and while he isnt the final boss, i think he could be considered the main antagonist
Maybe thematically, but I’ve already decided that Islanders are moths, because of the themes of forgetting and whatnot. In this case, the Universe is analogous to the Radiance (though not exactly), not the King. The King here is just a really big moth.

you can start anytime.
you can brush your teeth in the middle of the day. you can wash the dishes at 2am. you can do things outside the normal times assigned by society.
You can go to bed at noon. You can have ravioli for breakfast and cheerios for dinner. As long as you're awake, washed, dressed, and in the place you need to be when you need to be there (and I mean *need*, like a job or a social obligation, not just adhering to cultural expectations of normal) it doesn't matter what the rest of your schedule looks like.
