What Strength Really Means 💪

✅️ Vetted by @gazavetters {537}✅️

Hey everyone, my name is Abdelmajed. I don’t usually talk much about myself, but today, I want to share a little piece of my story.

I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that has always been my home 🏡. I grew up surrounded by my family, my friends, and the streets that I knew like the back of my hand. Life wasn’t always easy, but we had love, laughter, and dreams. I used to think that no matter what happened, home would always be here. But life has a way of changing things in ways we never expect.

Over the past months, everything I once knew has disappeared. The streets that were once filled with children playing are now silent. The houses that held so many memories are now just rubble. And the people I loved—some of them are gone forever. 💔

There's no point to "peace" talks with israel. They'll just kill anyone and anything with American money backing them up. I'm not even saying this because I hate israel — I legitimately don't see a point if they can kill Palestinians and Lebanese without anyone lifting a finger to counter it. The only solution is the dissolution of Israel as a nation state and the abolishing zionism from the face of this earth.

Israel returned to war again. The bombing is everywhere. We are being exterminated here and the whole world is silent.

In a moment, 400 people were killed, most of them children and women.

There is no food, no drink, and no way out of this hell.

We are dying before your eyes please, don’t leave us alone! Save us, do something protest, donate, participate.

340 on the Gazavetters list. (Gazavetters is a Palestinian run blog that verifies and keeps tabs on fundraisers to make sure they're legitimate)

Donations mean direct help, and are low risk on Gofundme (there's a Year for refunds)

Shares are vital to reach more donors.

Help however you can. Money or time can make a difference! Thank You.

What did you do while the children of Gaza were dying?

I argued with their killers.

What did you say?

I said that the innocent deserve innocence. That the sound of laughter is better than nightmares, and briefer. That the cost of killing may be higher than the price of dying.

Did they listen?

Do killers ever listen? They are deafened by their weapons’ drone and by the grate of their own voices raging, denying.

Why were they angry?

They said that they needed to feel safe.

Safe from the children?

They said there are no children in Gaza, only young combatants.

And the babies?

They said they are little snakes that will grow, and it is better to kill them in their nests.

And what of the teachers? The singers? The artists? The fathers? The mothers?

They said that all who live there are terrorists. And as for the mothers, they said it is they who bear the little snakes.

Did your protestations do any good?

No. I lost my breath, I lost my words, I lost my heart. But had I not argued, I would have lost my soul.

Did any children survive?

In body, yes. In spirit, it is not sure.

The children who lived, what will become of them?

Their eyes will sear holes in the night sky. Remember this when you look at the stars:

that it is the burning eyes of Gaza’s children that hold your gaze.

Months ago, my family’s blood was spilled before my eyes—my father, my mother, and my sisters were killed, leaving me drowning in the darkness of grief. And now, the war has returned once again, and all I have left are my children and my wife, who is battling uterine cancer, struggling through pain and continuing her treatment in Egypt. I am doing everything I can to protect what remains of my shattered soul. Please, your donation, no matter how small, is the last hope I cling to in this cruel world.

Hi can I have your attention for a bit

Alawites are a religious minority in Syria and we are currently facing genocide.

If you're out of the loop, in December Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was deposed and replaced with leadership from Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, a terrorist organization with ties to al-Qaeda. In the months since then Alawite genocide has progressed pretty heavily.

1. This division goes back to the days of Assad.

2. This was mostly skipped but it's not hard to know when someone is an Alawite given their name and where they're from.

3. In the past, Alawites suffered from extreme poverty and lack of opportunities and were forced to either join the military or work government jobs. After the regime change mass layoffs from government positions hit Alawite majority areas, leaving thousands without stable income.

4. During the so-called "security campaigns" conducted by government forces, Alawite civilians were detained and called "Nusayri dogs/pigs/etc" (Nusayri is a derogatory term for Alawite) and sometimes forced to make animal noises (such as barking).

5. The government sent security forces to the Alawite-majority coastal areas, who often conduct the aforementioned "security campaigns", such as one two days ago in Latakia city that had at least 13 dead.

6. Whenever the government conducted the "security campaigns" they said it was against "remnants of the regime" to sway public opinion among non-Alawites into thinking these people were the ones that killed civilians in the days of Assad.

7. After some minor skirmishes between Alawites and Security forces in Jableh city, the government sent the military to the coast.

8. As I'm writing this multiple massacres against Alawites have occurred and are occurring in the coastal countryside.

9 and 10 are yet to start.

We call for the UN and the international community to step in to end this ASAP. Please help us.

GRAPHIC WARNING

[video description: approximately 30 dead people on the ground after a massacre in the village of al-Mukhtariyeh]

Western media reporting seems to vary with the characterization of the clashes, some (including cnn, nyt, apnews, and others) appear to use the official narrative. other outlets (like the bbc, reuters, and others) say it for what it is, sectarian killing.

Updated death toll according to Syrian Street 24, an independent Syrian news channel:

7 murdered in dweir baabda and beit ana

24 murdered in al-shir

38 murdered in al-mukhtariyeh (shown above)

7 murdered in al-haffeh

2 murdered in yahmour

22 murdered in qurfeis

at least 60 murdered in other locations.

Which gives a total of 162 murdered men women and children. However this is not a complete death toll, as some estimates go as high as 1700 murdered over the entire coastal region.

this ramadan we pray for peace and aid for the people of palestine. this ramadan we remember the previous ramadans, where thousands of palestinians were massacred. this ramadan we honour palestine, and may we see a free palestine next ramadan

Happy ramadan my fellow muslims

all the palestinians i know are celebrating but also braced for the indiscriminate bombing that will take place until the ceasefire goes into effect on sunday. i don't know if you know this but israel has always bombed the most indiscriminately right before a ceasefire up until the very last second, just to kill a few hundred more palestinians. this was once considered one of its worst war crimes because it is demonstrably utterly unjustified. now it's considered par for the course because the vast majority of the bombing of the past year has been unjustified (even militarily, israel's bank of targets ran out long ago.) but between now and sunday people who have survived 476 days of genocide are going to be desperately hoping to make it until the ceasefire. the bitterness and fear of losing friends and family right before it is a psychological torture of its own.

over the past year i think a lot of people around the world have been sickened by the awareness that a trapped people are being starved and bombed to death as they go about their day. personally i haven't been able to truly enjoy anything without the awareness that for almost every half hour of the past year a child in gaza was killed. a lot of people in gaza have said they had a proper night's sleep since october 7th. this is the smallest demand of humanity and the first thing a ceasefire means, and why it has been so wretched to have to scream and beg for it for over a year. people will be eating and sleeping again. let's just get there, on sunday, and then we can talk about everything else we need to do.

let us take a moment and grieve for all the lives lost. so many thousand people have been murdered by the zionist entity in the last fifteen months. palestinians in gaza have lost too much, from friends and family to their homes and livelihood.

this ceasefire is not an end to our solidarity with gaza. we will all be here waiting and praying for palestine to be wholly liberated from the occupation and watch her people be happy and free.

in the meantime, please keep donating to palestinian fundraisers. it is essential to support families planning on rebuilding.

alaa is a mother of two young children. her fundraiser has been verified. i request you to help her by sharing and donating to her gofundme.
