How do you draw with Medibang?? i've been using it for a year or so, and my drawings always come out so pixelly and ugly. I'm asking you this genuinely, because there were so many moments I felt I didn't want to draw anymore because of how bad my art looked.

.. good question!!

First off, I totally understand how it feels to not want to draw anymore due to a drawing coming out like shit. However, if I may ask - have you actually given your art the time of day to exist, or are you midway through a sketch and decide ‘this is awful’? Might not apply to you but I like to think of it like a cake. You wouldn’t call a bunch of flour and eggs a cake and judge the ingredients as a bad cake, would you? So you can’t judge an unfinished drawing like that!

OK ONTO THE ART TIPS! One thing that’s important to do is finding the right brush for you, and that doesn’t just mean which brush type, but also the size and colors and settings! Personally, I like to use the pencil with full opacity and size 3.00 to 5.00. That’s just my preference - some people prefer big blocky lines, others don’t. You can also try incorporating different brushes in one drawing, it can make a difference!

How big you draw your drawings can also affect the pixel-ness. Personally I draw pretty tiny, and it looks very pixel-y, but once I zoom out it doesn’t look like it. But I’m no expert on zooming stuff :’)

Im no expert on Medibang, I only got it fairly recently, so take it with a grain of salt! Also consider that Medibang might not be your program, I used to use IBISPaint which was fine for a while, but my self esteem began tanking because of its limitations. Then I switched over to Medibang and I couldn’t enjoy my art more! So whether you need a simpler program or a more complex one, there’s no shame at all :)

Best of luck to you, and keep me updated!!

These next couple of posts are just gonna be dumps of art I like ;; I’ll tell more abt the actual characters… eventually!
