Our Man Bashir Lino print! Been doing a whole lot of printmaking stuff lately, but this one is my favorite :-)

Re: this it is also very character-appropriate that the only hobby we see Kira Nerys engaging in enthusiastically without being roped into it by her friends is springball. She does not really know how to approach imaginative scenarios and has no aptitude for art, and it figures that she would be more interested in sports and recreation - very physical and embodied and instinctive rather than contemplative or creative, taking her out of her thoughts rather than immersing herself in them.

Anyway, since several male characters get episodes devoted to them having a goofy silly time with their hobbies (like Sisko building an ancient spaceship from scratch or Bashir LARPing as James Bond), I think there should have been a low-key episode about Kira participating in a springball tournament.

Odo!! I'll be fr he's one of the main reasons i started ds9, i love his look lol

oh and Odo kenough tshirt became an inside joke between me and my sis atp(im 9 eps deep and she watched half of with w me)

Sisko definitely manipulated Kasidy's cargo run schedule just to have her play baseball. He promised he wouldn't do that anymore, but I know in my bones that he did it. And he can live with it.

So what do we think Cardassia looks like? All we ever really see is a big city in important government areas. What about where the labouring people live? What are their desserts like? Does the sky go funky colours-during the day, is it even blue? What colour is the water?

My head canon is that Cardassia is really colourful when we get away from the government areas. I guess that's because when Garak is describing his time on Romulus he says it's grey. He must be used to more colour. Does Cardassia have lots of open air markets with colourful fabric canopies? Does Cardassia use colourful tiles on older buildings? I imagine the labouring class in the country living in older cottages which still have colourful artistic tiling on them.

And are the desserts like what we have on Earth? Sure there would be lots of yellow, orange and red toned sands, but it's another planet, They must have other colours too. Imagine a dessert the colour of rose quartz, or purple, or blue.

Imagine Garak taking Bashir on their first holiday out of the city after they've been rebuilding for a while. He picks the blue dessert because it's scenic, but it isn't all that unusual for Cardassia. And Bashir is just astonished by the blue sand.

I'm curious what other people think about what Cardassia looks like! We never really get to explore worlds as much as we would like.
