I don't mind Harris Dickinson as John at all tbh. With proper styling and brown contacts the physical resemblance will probably be acceptable. The bone structure will help lots.

I'm happy they picked an attractive guy to play John for once and he has the right attitude for the role. Dickinson conveys perfectly John's mix of brashness and sensibility. And it's great he's not precious about nudity, sex or homoeroticism as an actor, which is very important in this particular story. You can't be a prude playing John Lennon.

Every time they announce a biopic it's the same kicking and screaming but the film turns out alright. More often than not, anyway. Personally, I would've gone for unknown actors with a stronger resemblance to the real people but the four guys involved are fairly talented. I haven't seen any argument against them other than "they're popular"? Which is so funny to think about, like, imagine having too many instagram followers to play one of The Beatles (random men no one has heard of).

Sam Mendes is a wonderful director and fairly experienced adapting material for the screen. He usually works with elite professionals, it would be really exciting if he brought Roger Deakins and Thomas Newman along for this, for example. Maybe I'm being too optimistic but I'm genuinely puzzled why everyone is acting like we have too many Beatles biopics, when this is the first large scale Beatles project EVER?
