Guiding Chan up to your childhood bedroom was stressful to say the least. His hand in yours acted like an anchor, and somehow the weight of his palm made your breathing steadier. You knew your parents were still watching, you could feel their eyes on your backs, and all you could think about was if they knew. Did they catch onto your lie? Could they tell that you and Chan weren’t a couple? Of course they knew, how couldn’t they—

“Hey,” Chan whispered, tugging on your hand to stop you. He stood on the step below yours, way too close for you to stay sane, and lightly pressed his chest to the dip of your back. It felt like a perfect fit. “I’m going to spin you around and pick you up, okay?”

Your brows furrowed. “I don’t think—”

But before you could protest, he already had a firm grip on your hips and was turning you to face him. Your cheeks were ablaze while he grinned up at you, and for a second you completely forgot about the stress of the party and keeping your parents oblivious and your stupid cousins ruining the secret. It was just Chan.

And just Chan was pretty nice.

Until he was slipping one arm under your knees and lifting you off the ground way too easily. You protested with various complaints but Chan simply continued up the stairs with a fond chuckle.

It was all for show. It was all for show. It was all for show.

Ok so I have a lot to say, I've been reading Man Up since the third part was uploaded, I wasn't really a Stay back then (I am now!) but I was immediately hooked, I don't read NSFW fics (so I ended up skipping the suggestive part in yours sorry) but the build up, the plot, the characters being three-dimensional, everything was so well done. I had been waiting so long for the 10 part and now that it's over, I kind of have that empty feeling in my stomach that you get when you complete watching a brilliant show or reading a great book and now you suddenly don't have a reason to smile for a while anymore. I really loved the depth given to the characters and the fact that there's a whole Man Up universe to come 🥺, I still can't believe we are lucky enough to read all this for free sometimes. Thank you Viv, for coming up with this plotline, and writing so well. I know it can get hard trying to find inspiration sometimes and life can be tiring and hard, but you made a lot of people smile through your words and I'm sure I write for everyone when I say we are extremely thankful.

Tbh, I loved the ending !! I’m a sucker for angst, even like brutal angst but this ending was just super satisfying and left me happy and just like…smiling ig. It’s been an incredible journey reading the series and I wish you all the best in the future 💛

I really struggled to come to a happy conclusion with this story actually

for the majority of the writing process, I always pictured jisung and the reader having a unhappy ending due to their personal struggles and treatment of each other

but I loved it too much to end it without the two coming together

It would’ve felt like I wronged the characters in a way

Minho is a strange case in this series

as a pysch student, I’m really delving into trauma and reasons why people do the things they do in these stories

I always hated the cliche characters that never possessed any flaws yet still had conflict in their relationship

I really wanted to express realism in my stories (despite it not involving the people that these characters are based on at all) so I gave each character a case of flaws that I could show deeply in each of their stories!
