this is just my 2 cents but i can also kinda picture him doing payed research for a professor… idk how all universities work but students at my uni can do payed research for profs during the school year and since my boy fratboy!matt is smart… just a silly thought and it’s not as hot as construction or bartending but 😊

as mentioned before, kitty is very independent. so she doesn't mind doing stuff on her own, and she went to the city quite late to get whatever she needed and matt hated that, also cos her phone died and matt couldn't get in contact with her. when she went to the frat house that night, a fight immediately broke out with matt saying that kitty doesn't think before doing something—or at least not thinking abt how worried he gets when she does stuff on her own without telling anybody.
the frat brothers pretty much stayed faaaaar away from either of them and were eyeing each other when one would walk into the room cos they weren't sure what to say.

i think i've answered something similar before, but idm saying it again !! at first, she found matt extremely intimidating and pretty much tried to avoid him cos he made her so nervous with how quiet and deadpan he always it. but over time, she realised how nice he actually is when she got to know him and she actually doesn't mind if shes alone with him (like if shes waiting for chris or if shes waiting for kitty).
matt is protective over her, he likes her a lot and they both see each other as close friends. they don't really have deep conversations, but they do have conversations where they'll ask how each other are and just overall what they've been doing all day
