david tennant here's some i came up with: 1) whose idea was it for berowne to eat the love letter in love's labour's lost 2) was macbeth delivering his soliloquies to the camera an acting or directorial decision and did it feel any different from the making of the richard ii or much ado proshots 3) what convinced you to take on the role of macbeth after several years of thinking you weren't the right fit for the part 4) for audio dramas like bbc3 twelfth night how much of it is being overseen by a director and how much of it is your own interpretation 5) what was it like working with murray gold on kafka the musical stuff like this. i like footballing these around in my head

archive dive #5: hamlet (2008) - stage version

it’s been my dream to see the stage version of this hamlet in some way shape or form and i’m so happy i got to do it. it’s so fascinating to compare how david has portrayed the character early on in the run to the film version, seeing the original staging and getting a taste of how it was like watching it live. i think the look and feel of the production really shine, it has some super creative stuff going on that was unfortunately lost with the medium/the shoestring budget of the film version so i’m so glad i got to see this! there will always be a special place in my heart for hamlet, it was the first shakespeare play that i fell in love with, it was the first one i went back and made notes on, and doing that basically catapulted me to where i am now (full shakspeare hyperfixation). and this production is really special to me too; obviously david tennant is my One Perfect Hamlet, but it’s not just him, nearly every single member of this cast has remained my favorite version of the character even after watching so many others. rsc hamlet 2008-2009, my beloved, i will love you forever <3

macbeth lady macbeth malcolm macduff donmar macbeth david tennant cush jumbo ros watt noof ousellam shakespeare my art ws i tried very hard to incorporate anakin vibes (ie. armor and a mask and a cape) into macbeth's design but i couldn't figure it out i might make more art for this au when i finally work it out in my head lmao also macduff's whole thing in this au is that he's a jedi that left the order and settled down for a while but he leaves his planet and to help the rebellion and sort of goes back to being a jedi unofficially i thought that would be a fun way to translate over macduff being torn between his family/home and his sense of duty to the whole idea of the jedi often being a position where they need to choose between personal attachment and the greater good
